What drives this project for me is my passion for eldercare. Shaped by meaningful experiences supporting older adults both in the community and at the bedside. I’ve come to learn how connection, conversation, and creativity aren’t just nice to have, they’re essential.
During my time volunteering with the Hospitalized Elder Life Program (HELP) at Halton Healthcare, I have had the chance to support older inpatients facing cognitive challenges, by leading engagement-based activities to support their mental and physical well-being. This showed me just how transformative simple, human moments can be, and is a big part of what inspired the foundation of Senior Spark.

I’ve always been passionate about building meaningful connections and supporting others, especially those who may feel overlooked or alone. Through my experiences working with children and in customer service, I’ve seen how much a kind word or thoughtful gesture can brighten someone’s day.
I wanted to help seniors in care homes because I believe they deserve not only high-quality care, but genuine companionship, respect, and attention. Senior Sparks allows me to fulfill this desire and I’m deeply committed to creating moments of comfort, conversation, and connection. I believe no gesture should be sold short because even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life.

As many elders face loneliness and isolation I see this program as a meaningful way to bring joy and companionship into their lives. I am passionate about improving people's overall wellbeing - especially emotional and mental health which often goes overlooked.
To me, Senior Spark means being part of something that brings light into someone’s day, even through something as simple as a game or a conversation. It is a reminder that health extends far beyond medicine; it's also about human connection and emotional fulfilment. With my background in volunteering with mental health associations, I’ve seen how important human connection is for healing and happiness. Senior Spark gives me the opportunity to live out those values and make a real, personal impact in the lives of others.
